64 Teams Leave the Tournament Every Hour

 Right now, competition is fierce because only the winner progresses to the next round. All 64 pitches are in use and, naturally, there can be only one winner.

'Consequently, 64 teams leave the tournament every hour,' the manager of the tournament Ole Vang Brun explains.

On Tuesday 580 matches were played. Yesterday, it was 848 and today it is 825. This year matches in the end game have been shortened by five minutes in each half. Moreover, a penalty shoot-out is to take place on the actual pitch.

'The schedule is very tight and some teams might have to play four games in a day, others three, before we know the finalists,' Ole Vang Brun says.
