Tell us briefly the history of your club/team?

Our club – AKS Strzegom – was founded in 1946 in Strzegom, small city in South-West Poland. It is the center of sport activity for our local society where children, teenagers and seniors can practice and enhance their skills in: judo, volleyball, table tennis, archery, climbing and football which is the largest section.

Boys from our youngster football team – boys born in 2003-2004, practice together since 2011 and for three years they are trained by a former longtime player of Ekstraklasa (the highest level of Polish football games) - Mr. Jaroslaw Krzyzanowski. Since then they significantly improved their football skills and this year, for the first time, they qualified to higher level of youngster's league – Provincial League.

Is it your first time at the Dana Cup if not how many times has your club participated?

Our team participated in Dana Cup two times, in 2014 and 2015, both times in B-12 category. In 2014, we reached quarterfinals in Finals B. This year we improved and finished our Dana Cup journey also in quarterfinals but in Finals A where we lost with team HB from Faroe Islands – later finalist of B-12 category. By the way, congratulations to both finalists HB (FRO) and Cesar Vallejo (PER), they confirmed their high football skills and deservedly reached the big final.

What are your goals and expectations for the Dana Cup 2016?

Every year we go to Hjørring we have one goal – to hear our national anthem at Hjørring Stadium (Bredbånd Nord Arena) where the category final takes place. The only way to live this experience is to play well in tournament and reach the big final what we plan to do.

We love Dana Cup atmosphere so our non-sport expectations are simple – have fun as we had last two times, share our love to football with the same sport enthusiasts from all around the world, and strengthen our team's spirit through such experiences as Dana Cup.
