Dana Cup helping to sustain sustainable development
The huge youth soccer tournaments, Dana Cup in Hjørring and Norway Cup in Oslo are uniting through a network collaboration with Eir Soccer, who are working together with the UN, the civil society, the private sector and governments all around the World to create platforms that enhance cross-cutting discussions and action for sustainable development through football.
The leading football tournaments and organisations stand together to use their influence and their positive reputation to contribute to the achievement of the UN's Sustainable Development Goal.
The committed organizations will highlight the great potential of football and sports organizations as a driving force for development and inspire others to participate and assume responsibility for making movement towards sustainable development. Throughout the project, thousands of young players, their parents and their communities will be introduced to the World Goals and underlying values of the Agenda 2030.
On Thursday the 8th of June 2017 the project will be launched in Oslo. The Norwegian Prime Minister, Erna Solberg and the Norwegian Minister for EU, EØS and Nordic Co-operation, Frank Bakke-Jensen will start the process. The Director for the Dana Cup, Jette Andersen and Alison Leigh Forman will take part in the event in Oslo.
