Dana Cup’s CEO: Like Christmas Eve

From 1982 to 2019, the football club Fortuna Hjørring has organised the Dana Cup every year in week 30, which has turned into one of the world’s largest youth football tournaments. Therefore, it was also with great sadness that the management of the Dana Cup had to give up running the tournament in both 2020 and 2021 due to the corona pandemic.

‘But this year, fortunately, it is again possible to gather young people from large parts of the world, and we are very happy. It is just like Christmas Eve for us’, says CEO of the Dana Cup, Jette Andersen with a big smile.

At the same time, she is pleased that, despite a two-year-break, it has been possible to attract several hundred volunteers to solve a wide range of practical tasks.

‘Many organisers of large and small events have found this year that it has been very difficult to get enough volunteers. Consequently, we are both grateful and humbled that so many people have chosen to spend a week in the middle of the summer holidays helping out at this year’s Dana Cup’, Jette Andersen says.
