280 referees to officiate almost 3,000 matches
The story of how exciting and rewarding it is to be a referee at the Dana Cup continues to grow. This year, 280 referees from 20 different nations will take charge of the matches throughout the tournament.
With almost 1,000 teams participating, nearly 3,000 matches will be played before the final winners are crowned on Saturday evening.
This was the message from Head of Referees Thorsten Vekens at Monday’s traditional welcome meeting, where all referees gathered ahead of the tournament.
