A huge thank you to Bambusa
Sometimes you get an opportunity that becomes much more than just football. That is exactly what happened to us this summer.
Team Q was fortunate enough to win Bambusa’s prize through Dana Cup, giving us the opportunity to bring a group of football-loving girls to an absolutely fantastic week in Hjørring. It was an opportunity we are incredibly grateful for.
For Team Q, it is not only about results and winning football matches. It is just as much about community, friendships, experiences, and memories that last a lifetime.
Team Q is an additional programme alongside the girls’ own clubs, giving them the chance to attend tournaments and friendly matches together, both in Denmark and abroad.
At Dana Cup, the girls came from different clubs and different parts of the country, from across Jutland and even one player from Zealand. Some knew each other beforehand, while others did not.
But once the orange and black shirt goes on, we are Team Q. It is amazing to see how quickly new relationships and a strong sense of community can grow through a shared love of football.
Thanks to Bambusa’s prize, the girls got to experience everything that Dana Cup has to offer:
- International opponents
- Lots of football
- New friendships
- Laughter and great moments
- Nerves and excitement
- And most importantly, the feeling of being part of something big
And the girls really seized the opportunity.
In their interview with Dana Cup, Maja said with a big smile:
“We’re here to win”
We did not take first place, but we achieved an impressive third place at Dana Cup. A performance we are immensely proud of. But when we look back on the week, it is just as much everything beyond the matches that we take home with us.
The community. The experiences. The laughter. The new friendships. And the memories.
So, from all of us at Team Q, a HUGE THANK YOU to Bambusa for the prize and for helping to give our girls this opportunity.
And of course, a big thank you to Dana Cup for an amazing tournament and for creating the setting for a week we will never forget.
