What is the name of your team and your teams history and does your team have a Nick Name?
Our team is Rever De Sporting Club, based in Sikkim, India. The club was founded with a vision to develop grassroots football and create international opportunities for young players from the Himalayan region. Coming from a small state, our journey has been driven by discipline, belief, and passion for the game. Our nickname is “The Dreamers”, as we represent young players who dare to dream beyond borders.
What does it mean for you to play in the Dana Cup and what are your goals and expectations at the Dana Cup 2026?
Playing in the Dana Cup 2026 is a proud and historic moment for our club and players. It gives us the opportunity to compete at a global level, experience different football cultures, and represent Sikkim and India on an international stage. Our goals are to gain valuable international exposure, compete with confidence, learn from top youth teams around the world, and inspire many young footballers back home. Beyond results, our focus is growth, experience, and development.
Dana Cup supports Football for the Goals - it is a United Nations initiative that provides a platform for the global football community to engage with and advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Rever De Sporting Club proudly supports SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities. Coming from Sikkim, where access to opportunities can be limited, we use football as a tool for education, discipline, and social inclusion. Through structured training and mentorship, we aim to create equal opportunities for children from diverse backgrounds. At the Dana Cup, we will play for these goals and demonstrate how football can help reduce inequalities and empower youth globally.
