Team Interview - Åsane Fotball - Norway - Boys 15
What is the name of your team and your teams history and does your team have a Nick Name?
Over the past years, we have established ourselves as a team with strong local roots in the Bergen area. We are continuously developing, both individually and as a team. Our head coach is Michael Mittet and Andreas Vindheim has recently joined as player development coach.
We present ourselves as a professional, forward-looking and ambitious young team, with a strong focus on development. We aim to succeed together. We compete in the national league alongside clubs from both the Norwegian Elite League and the OBOS League. The first matches of the season have resulted in one win and one draw.
We train four times a week in addition to matches. The atmosphere within the squad is very positive, with a healthy competitive mindset and a strong focus on making each other better.
For Dana Cup, we will participate with a squad of 16 players and are very excited to take part in this year’s tournament. Travelling abroad and competing in a tournament where we can face strong opponents from all over the world means a lot to us, with a focus on good football, fair play and strong performances.
Matches and tournaments are the motivation behind all the hard work put in every week. We are also fortunate to have our own sponsors supporting us on our journey towards achieving our ambitions, something we are very proud of.
What does it mean for you to play in the Dana Cup and what are your goals and expectations at the Dana Cup 2026?
Our ambition at this year’s Dana Cup is, of course, to go all the way and lift the trophy and we know it takes dedication and hard work to get there.
Dana Cup supports Football for the Goals - it is a United Nations initiative that provides a platform for the global football community to engage with and advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We ask all teams to pick at least 1 Global Goals that they support and will play for at the Dana Cup, which goal does your team support and would like to play for? We wish to support the UN initiative: Clean Water and Sanitation.
