Environmental Goals
We will reduce the tournament’s CO₂ footprint per participant each year.
We will do this by measuring and tracking the tournament’s climate impact and continuously launching initiatives to reduce it.
Goal: Starting from the baseline year 2025, we will annually reduce the tournament’s climate footprint per participant.
We will reduce the amount of residual waste and increase the amount of recycled waste each year.
We will do this by improving waste-sorting options for guests and staff. This means ensuring more and better sorting facilities, improved signage and communication, and guidance in the central area.
Goal: In 2025, a system will be established to collect data on waste amounts from the central area in at least four different fractions.
Goal: In 2026, the amount of residual waste from the central area will be reduced by at least 10% compared to 2024.
We will make more responsible purchases.
We will do this by requiring suppliers to have a sustainability policy or otherwise work to reduce their environmental impact.
Goal: By 2027, at least 50% of Dana Cup’s suppliers will be working to reduce their environmental impact.
Goal: By 2028, all suppliers will be working to reduce their environmental impact.
We will operate Dana Cup SportsCenter according to Green Sport Facility criteria.
We will operate Dana Cup SportsCenter according to Green Sport Facility criteria.
We will do this by meeting a wide range of environmental requirements for the operation of the sports center.
Goal: By the end of 2026, Dana Cup SportsCenter will be certified as a Green Sport Facility.
Social goals
We will develop and promote fair play on and off the pitch.
We want fair play and good behavior both on and off the field. Therefore, we will increase focus on various fair play initiatives and measure several factors related to fair play.
Goal: We will continuously increase the number of votes cast in connection with the fair play award by making voting attractive and available online.
Goal: Each year, we will set goals and launch initiatives to create a safe and positive environment for all participants in Dana Cup.
We will actively promote greater gender equality.
We currently see a majority of male players, coaches, leaders, and referees in the tournament, and we want to increase the number of female participants and referees. We will do this by strengthening our recruitment and marketing efforts targeting female athletes and referees.
Goal: Each year until 2030, we will increase the number of girls’ teams.
Goal: Each year until 2030, we will increase the number of female referees.
Goal: Each year until 2030, we will increase the number of female leaders.
The local community should share in our successes.
A successful and efficient tournament requires strong local support, collaboration, and a large number of volunteers. Therefore, going forward, we aim to improve how we share our successes and create goodwill for our partners.
Goal: By the end of 2025, we will conduct an analysis of the tournament’s economic impact on the local area and local residents’ attitudes toward Dana Cup.
Goal: Each year, we will carry out at least three information and engagement initiatives to inform local stakeholders about the many positive impacts of Dana Cup.
Goal: From 2027 onward, all volunteer roles will be filled by July 1.
Economic goals
We will strengthen our financial foundation to do more good.
We will do this by ensuring that a greater share of our profits is reinvested into the organization and into initiatives that enhance the tournament’s sustainability.
Goal: From 2027 onward, 10% of the tournament’s profit will be reinvested into the organization.
