Colorful Tradition is kept Alive

True to tradition, Hjørring's mayor receives two selected teams from this year's Dana Cup. This year was no exception, but the reception in the town hall was more colorful and entertaining than many times before.

The boys from Jakarta Student Soccer Team in Indonesia were dressed in colorful, traditional costumes and entertained with traditional Indonesian dance to loud applause. The girls from UKS SAP Brzeg were not slow to take up the challenge and threw themselves into the dance.

Prior to this, the flame in the center of Hjørring had been lit, indicating the official opening of one of the world's largest football tournaments for youth teams. The flame was lit by the town's red-clad train driver, Krumme, together with a representative from each of the two teams.

Led by Mayor Søren Smalbro, players and managers walked to the town hall where refreshments were served.

The mayor welcomed everyone to Hjørring and emphasized the great importance of the Dana Cup for the town.
