At Vendsyssel Historical Museum, the story of North Jutland’s sporting heritage is now brought together in the exhibition North Jutland Gold. At Dana Cup, we are delighted, proud and humbled that Dana Cup and Fortuna Hjørring are part of this story.
For us, sport in North Jutland is about so much more than what happens on the pitch.
Through Dana Cup, Hjørring and North Jutland have, for generations, been an international meeting place for young footballers from all over the world. Different nations, cultures and people come together here around one shared passion: football.
At the same time, Fortuna Hjørring has helped create powerful stories in girls’ and women’s football, showing how great ambitions and dreams can grow with roots firmly planted in North Jutland.
In their own ways, Dana Cup and Fortuna have helped put Hjørring and North Jutland on the world map through sport.
That makes us proud.
But perhaps the most beautiful part of North Jutland Gold is that the story is not only about the greatest moments. It is also about the people who bring sport to life every single day.
The volunteers. The coaches. The leaders. The parents. The clubs. The fans. The local community.
That is gold too.
Dana Cup is built on people and communities like these. Without them, there would be no Dana Cup, and without them, the sporting history of North Jutland would not be the same.
We are proud of our North Jutland roots.
We are proud of Hjørring.
We are proud of Fortuna.
We are proud of Dana Cup.
And we are proud to be a small part of a much bigger North Jutland story.
