Mercedarios (ESP) – Flint Fotball 1 (NOR 1-2 (0-2)
Spanish side Mercedarios faced Norway's Flint Fotball in the final match of the Dana Cup, and it was a meeting between two excellent football teams with a clear focus on playing attractive, attacking football. Both sides displayed good technique and plenty of pace.
Mercedarios struggled to turn their efforts into goals in the first half. Flint, however, made their chances count. After 10 minutes, the Norwegian side completely opened up the Spanish defence and took the lead. Twelve minutes later, the ball was fired into the roof of the net to give Flint a 2–0 advantage at half-time.
Five minutes from time, Mercedarios gave themselves hope by pulling a goal back to make it 2–1, and moments later a header struck the post.
It was one of Saturday’s best and most thrilling finals — an intense, closely fought encounter played in pouring rain.
