Young Tour Leaders Take Another Turn as Volunteers

Mikkeline and Helena are taking another turn as part of the tour leader team when FC Horsens once again visits Dana Cup in Hjørring this summer, continuing a long-standing tradition for the girls at FC Horsens.

We are incredibly pleased in the club that two strong role models like Mikkeline and Helena will once again spend a week of their summer vacation leading the delegation, as the girls of FC Horsens return to FDF-Spejdergården in Hjørring.

Mikkeline and Helena are great at creating a sense of safety and a good atmosphere in the camp, and that's crucial for the whole experience during a week of football camp where community and togetherness are top priorities, says Torsten Cargnelli, who handles the administrative aspects of the trip.

For Mikkeline, Dana Cup is a special football tradition:

Dana Cup is a week I've always looked forward to. The close matches against teams from all over the world, the fun evenings in the “Disco Tent”, and all the memories with many of the girls who are still my closest friends today.

Back when, as one of the youngest age groups, we would go watch “the big ones” play and cheer them on to victory. I hope that the young girls who are joining this year have just as great an experience as I did – and I want to do my part in passing that on to the players as part of the volunteer leadership team again this year.

Registration for this year's Dana Cup trip for players, coaches, and leaders has just opened. FC Horsens has strong connections in Hjørring and to Dana Cup, and it's always a special experience for everyone to participate in the large youth tournament with over 1,000 teams.
