1. Tell us briefly the name of your club and where you come from, your history?

Our football club is called Hyvinkään Palloseura. Our football club was established in 1947. We come from Finland and a city called Hyvinkää, which has around 47.000 inhabitants. The city is located 50 kilometers to the northwest direction from the capital of Finland, Helsinki.

The club has teams for men and women in both adults’ divisions, but its focus is to perform junior soccer at all junior age groups. We are joining the Dana Cup with two boys’ teams, one for 11 vs 11 and one for 7 vs 7 tournament, 32 boys in total. Our boys are born mainly in 2011. The boys have played together since the beginning of elementary school. Today we are playing junior games at age group of U15 on levels 2-4 organized by Football association of Finland.

2. Tell us what participating in the Dana Cup means for you and your team/s?

Participation in the Dana Cup is the most important event for the boys during the football season 2025. Boys have been doing plenty of work in exercising and volunteering to get themselves into a good condition and to earn money together to cover the tournament costs. During the tournament trip our aim is to grow our boys as athletes, promote diversity and inclusion of each player as part of the team, develop positive team spirit further and offer them a chance to practise social skills in the international atmosphere.

3. What are your goals and expectations at the Dana Cup 2025?

The boys have created simple goals themselves – work hard, play fair and have fun together!

4. Dana Cup supports Football for the Goals - it is a United Nations initiative that provides a platform for the global football community to engage with and advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We ask all teams to pick at least 1 of the Global Goals that they support and will play the Dana Cup, which goal does your team support and would like to play for? More information: Football for the Goals and Global Goals

We will promote, support and play for the goal “10 – Reduced inequalities” during the entire tournament. For us this means following in all acts we perform.

  • Equal chance to join to the tournament regardless of different socio-economic backgrounds
  • Fair play - always
  • Polite sportsmanship
  • Respect for our fellow footballers
  • No to racism
  • No one is left alone
