Parents Created a Team
for Their Daughters
’The traffic in Mexico City is terrible. If we were to find a football club of a certain level for our daughters, it would mean a transport time of several hours. Therefore, seven years ago we decided to rent a football pitch and establish our own team.’
This is what Maria Pariente, one of three parents who even offered to coach the girls, explains.
‘Since then, we have rented several different fields near where we all live, and today the girls are trained by a professional coach. And when the girls get too old to play youth soccer, I think several of them will move to the United States to go to college and play soccer there. Maybe they are scouted there by the biggest Mexican football clubs and thus return to Mexico to play football, ‘Maria Pariente reflects.
