The Dana Cup Spirit – Fair Play, community and responsibility
At Dana Cup, we believe that football is more than what happens on the pitch. It’s about the values we share and how we treat each other. That’s why we’re introducing an updated version of our Fair Play concept for 2025: The Dana Cup Spirit.
The Dana Cup Spirit is built on three core values:
Respect – For each other, the game and our surroundings
Responsibility – For your actions and the collective experience
Fair Play – In everything we do – on and off the pitch
These values are brought to life through nine guiding principles designed to ensure a safe, inclusive and meaningful experience for everyone:
- Participate – Everyone deserves a chance to be part of the game
- Appreciate – Say thank you, and show respect
- Eliminate – Say no to bullying, discrimination and bad behaviour
- Celebrate – Celebrate football, community and diversity
- Evaluate – Reflect on your conduct and contribution
- Motivate – Encourage others with positivity
- Sustainability – Take care of the environment and resources
- Integrate – Include others – especially those who are different
- Respect the space – Keep things clean and leave no trace

The Fair Play Award – Honouring teams who make a difference
Each year, we celebrate two teams who go above and beyond in living out the Dana Cup Spirit. One boys’ team and one girls’ team will receive the Dana Cup Fair Play Award – a recognition of their sportsmanship, kindness and leadership.
The award is given to teams who:
- Show respect to referees, opponents and volunteers
- Lend a hand even when they don’t have to
- Take care of the facilities and clean up after themselves
- Set a great example for others through attitude and actions
Winners will receive:
- An official Fair Play trophy
- Prizes from our Fair Play partner
- Recognition on Dana Cup’s official platforms
- And most importantly: the honour of being role models
