1. Tell us briefly the name of your club and where you come from, your history?
The name of our team is Woodpecker FC, based in Abuja - Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria. We are an Amateur Youth Football Club established in February 2023. We play our football trade in the 3rd Tier of the Nigerian Football League.
2. Tell us what participating in the Dana Cup means for you and your team/s?
Participating in the 2025 Edition of the Dana Cup presents us with the platform to showcase the great talents of our young players at an international level. Dana Cup also stands to give our team the needed mileage to be known worldwide. Importantly, participating in the Dana Cup presents us with the platform to relate and network with other youth teams from all around the world towards the general growth of our team.
3. What are your goals and expectations at the Dana Cup 2025?
Our goal at the 2025 Dana Cup is to participate with a view to lifting / winning the trophy. It would be a great honor for us to lift the prestigious Dana Cup Trophy. We look forward to seeing a tournament that is well organized to rival other renowned International Youth Tournaments.

Dana Cup supports Football for the Goals - it is a United Nations initiative that provides a platform for the global football community to engage with and advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We at Woodpecker FC, support the No 3 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which stands to ensure healthy lives and promotes well-being for all at all ages. We will therefore be playing at the 2025 Dana Cup to remind the various governments of countries around the world, to work harder towards preventing needless suffering of their citizens from preventable diseases and premature deaths. We would play to remind governments to focus on key targets that boost the health of their countries ' entire population.
