Dana Cup has lost its Master of Ceremonies

Jens Jørgen Gaardbo Andersen, aged 67 has passed away.

The Dana Cup’s Master of Ceremonies for the last 4 years has passed away at the age of 67. Jens Jørgen, who died suddenly during a recent trip to Rome, used his dedication and diligence to ensure the major task of all the side events around the Dana Cup operated smoothly.

Jens Jørgen worked closely together with the Master of Ceremonies, Søren Kærholm and he took over the position after Søren passed away in 2013. From the opening ceremony on Monday during the Dana Cup week to the last final game on Saturday, Jens Jørgen has the responsibility of making sure that the ceremonies were a success. He put all of his efforts into the tasks at hand and everybody knew that the opening ceremony at the Bredbånd Nord Arena, the finales and presentation of medals, together with other arrangements in Hjørring and Park Vendia during the week, were in safe hands.

It was not only during the Dana Cup week that the organization had the pleasure of Jens Jørgen’s expertize. Just recently, Jens Jørgen was also responsible for some major tasks related to Fortuna Hjørring’s 50th anniversary in November.

Jens Jørgen’s organizational strengths were not only used by the Dana Cup. He was also highly engaged in musical performances in Hjørring, his background with the KFUM Orchestra and Bagterp Brass Band found him taking part in many musical events.

Jens Jørgen will be missed, primarily by his family but he will also be greatly missed here at the Dana Cup.

In loving memory of Jens Jørgen!
