Tell us briefly the history of your club/team?
Our Club SGV Surf SC is a direct affiliate with San Diego Surf SC. We are a split of 2001/2002 team in which the core has 8 2002 players and have been together 3 plus years. We are at the top end of Youth Development and are labeled as one of the best clubs in the United States. In 2018 Surf SC will celebrate 41 years of existence.
Is it your first time at the Dana Cup, if not how many times has your club participated before?
In 2018 it will be our first visit to Dana Cup but not our last. We have 2 players with international experience that Won Cup No 1 in 2016 and 1 player that has Won both Cup No 1 in 2016 and Gothia Cup in 2015. This is a special group of boys which will compete in Dana Cup 2018.
What are your goals and expectations for the Dana Cup 2018?
We are an excellent side and when we are at our best we can compete with any team in California. We have high expectations for this competition. We plan to win. Our first goal is to adjust to the style of play and be top seed coming out of the group. Our next goal is not to concede goals making an easier path to victory. Finally, to enjoy Denmark and meet and make lasting friendships that will endure a lifetime.
