Preston North End Women’s Junior Football Club is a friendly, welcoming club with a strong competitive spirit. We are one of the few Girls Football Clubs in the North West of England that have teams at every age level from an u9 development squad (for school years 4 and 5) through to u16, with four of our teams doing the double in 2015-16 winning their Leagues and becoming League Cup Champions! Our Under 14s also became Lancs FA County Youth Cup Champions.
Our players, other than our Under 9s, Under 10s and Under 11s play in competitive league and cup competitions and all our teams participate in a number of tournaments every season to enhance the playing experience. All our goalkeepers receive specialist training at additional sessions as well as training with their teams on a Thursday evening, CRC. In 2016, our Under 16s went to Denmark to compete in the prestigious Dana Cup against teams from all over the world.
Our home games are played at UCLan Sports Arena in Preston, one of the best facilities in the county with training also taking place at the £12M complex.
We are proud that a number of our players have achieved county and international recognition and that we have forged links with a number of Senior Women’s teams, which offer choices for our players to graduate into from our Under 16s.
All our team managers and coaches hold FA coaching qualifications and are FA CRC cleared. The club holds the FA Charter Standard mark and we have developed and adhere to our own strict code of conduct as well as supporting the Football Association’s Respect Code of Conduct. Our ethos is to develop each of our players and teams to be the best they can be in a safe, competitive but enjoyable environment.
We run open training sessions in June, giving girls an opportunity to see whether they are interested in joining the club.
