We are going to #DanaCup2019

We are 10 girls born in 2007 from the football club FC Hoyvík in the Faroe Islands. For those who don´t know the Faroe Islands, we are a North Atlantic archipelago located 320 kilometres north-northwest of Scotland and about halfway between Norway and Iceland.

This small club was established in 2012 and the name derives from the area in Tórshavn (the capital city in Faroe Islands) where the club is based and we all live. There are around 200 members in the club, of which around 150 are children from the ages 5 to 17.

Our home ground is “Hoyvíksvøllur”, and this is also the place where the football loving youth in Hoyvík comes together for their love of the game.

This is only the second time a team from FC Hoyvík participates in Dana Cup, so we are new to the Dana Cup family.

Football brings people together and meeting young people from all over the world in a tournament like Dana Cup is an experience of a lifetime for the girls. By bringing young people together with a common passion in a tournament like this, Dana Cup is laying the foundation for friendships across borders and religion. We are all very excited and look forward to the experience this summer
