280 Referees to Officiate 2899 Matches

The good story about how great it is to be a referee at the Dana Cup is working. The number of referees for the tournament has increased.

’30-40 more referees compared to 2024 are ready to blow the whistle this year, and it is our clear impression that many of the referees have signed up because their colleagues have told them about the good experiences at the Dana Cup,’ says Thomas Jensen from The Referee Office.

At Monday's traditional welcome meeting, Thorsten Vekens, who is responsible for the referees, said that a total of 280 referees have signed up to officiate 2,899 matches.

The referees come from countries as diverse as Denmark, England, Norway, Finland, Germany, Ghana, Hong Kong, Mexico, Nepal, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, the USA and Wales.
