Arctic Import and REMA 1000 enter new CSR partnership with Dana Cup 2025 – Supporting girls' football talents from Greenland
Through a strong CSR collaboration with Dana Cup, Arctic Import and REMA 1000 are ensuring that even more young girls from Greenland will have the opportunity to experience one of the world’s largest and most recognized international youth football tournaments.
Dana Cup continues its commitment to making youth football accessible to all. In 2025, the tournament will once again take place from the 21st to the 26th of July, welcoming over 34,400 participants, volunteers, supporters and referees as more than 1,000 teams from 50 nations gather in Hjørring for a week of football, friendship, and unforgettable experiences.
As part of their shared focus on social responsibility, sustainability and the development of young talent, Arctic Import and REMA 1000 have joined forces to sponsor a girls' team from Greenland. The sponsorship covers participation fees, accommodation, meals and team apparel, ensuring that the players can attend without financial barriers.
“For us, this partnership is not just a sponsorship. It’s an investment in young people and their communities,” says Henrik Kronborg, Sales Director at Arctic Import. “Football brings people together and builds valuable life skills. We are proud to give a Greenlandic team the chance to take part in the Dana Cup and experience an international football environment.”
The Dana Cup is one of the largest youth football tournaments in the world and one of the few that brings together players from so many different countries. The tournament also attracts a large audience, with over 30,000 daily visitors to the event area. While football is the main focus, the Dana Cup is also about creating life-changing moments and building lifelong connections.
With the commitment of Arctic Import and REMA 1000, the partnership demonstrates how businesses can make a meaningful impact by creating social, cultural, and educational opportunities for young people. This collaboration is a strong example of how the private sector can work with ESG principles and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through sport.
Dana Cup is expanding its focus on CSR and welcomes more companies to be part of this mission. Partnerships like the one with Arctic Import and REMA 1000 show how companies can make a real difference for youth while also engaging in strategic ESG efforts and purpose-driven initiatives.
