Dana Cup intensifies in Africa
Dana Cup dreams of bringing more African teams to the tournament in Hjørring and building closer relations with the African continent. As a result, 56-year-old Frank Petersen has been hired as a sales consultant for Dana Cup, with Africa as his special focus area.
Since 1982 the Dana Cup has welcomed 204 teams from Africa. Frank started just prior to the Dana Cup in 2024, where he devoted his time to assisting our African teams, which ended in a record breaking 20 teams this summer. So, we are excited as we work towards the Dana Cup 2025 as we have set our goals high regarding the numbers for next year.
Dana Cup is an international youth soccer tournament, and we are all about giving exposure and experiences to young footballers from all around the world. African football is very exciting and adds an extra dimension to our event.
At the same time, Frank will be exploring opportunities to bring more Danish teams to Dana Cup.
Frank is a professional goalkeeper coach and has worked in Swaziland (RSSC), Mozambique (Estrela Vermala), Uganda (FUFA), Nigeria (Olisa FC and Kogi United), Uganda (She Corporate FC), Denmark (FC Taastrup, FC Roskilde, Fremad Amager, FC NordsjællandQ, and B93Q), and he is also a technical advisor for FTG in Tanzania. He has also been the Sports Manager in B93.

• Educated as a prison officer and has also worked as a mentor for young people on the streets
• Goalkeeper for Roskilde, Kastrup and Herfølge
• UEFA/DBU’s A-license for goalkeepers
• Goalkeeper coach in clubs such as FC Taastrup, Kogi Queens (Nigeria), FC Roskilde, FC Nordsjælland and currently Fortuna Hjørring
