Dana Cup reopens with what it is all about - FOOTBALL
When the Dana Cup reopens on Monday the 25th of July, the 2022 edition, will have a slightly different appearance prior to when COVID-19 forced us into a 3 year break.
It will be the 39th time we hold the Dana Cup and every time there is a festival feeling at the Opening Ceremony. It will be exactly the same here in 2022, where the tone will be set - FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL & FOOTBALL.
The thousands of participants who have flocked to Hjørring from near and far must feel welcome and the local citizens will rejoice in following the lively youth.
There is a parade from HALLEN Park Vendia, up through the city towards the Nord Energi Arena with music and a party. The city is drawn in and when the Nord Energi Arena opens at 18.30 there are different activities.
Muscial entertainment will start the party and at 19.10 there will be an opening game played, 20 + 20 minutes. That is the biggest change from earlier years. That is how the Dana Cup started and now football is back on the opening day.
It will become quite clear for everyone that there is one amazing week of football on the way.
The Mayor - Søren Smalbro will manage the official opening of the Dana Cup 2022, when he welcomes the thousands of young footballers and their supporters to Hjørring and wishes them a wonderful experience.
