Dana Cup Team Interview - IFK Fjärås - Sweden

27. Jan 2026

IFK Fjärås - Sweden - Boys 15

What is the name of your team and your teams history and does your team have a Nick Name?

We started IFK Fjärås Boys 2011 in 2016 and most of the players have been part of the team since the very beginning. We have had an incredible journey together, where we have not only developed good football players but also built a group with a strong value foundation, where players care for and respect each other.

Over the years, we have played thousands of matches and participated in many tournaments. These experiences have helped shape us both on and off the pitch.

We are also very fortunate to have what we believe is the best support club in Sweden – our parents. They support us in every possible way, regardless of what is needed. Their commitment and engagement are one of the most important cornerstones of our team and we are truly grateful for everything they do.

What does it mean for you to play in the Dana Cup and what are your goals and expectations at the Dana Cup 2026?

The year 2026 will be our final season as a separate age group within IFK Fjärås. Playing in the Dana Cup therefore represents a meaningful closure to a journey that has lasted for more than ten years.

We chose to participate in Dana Cup as it gives us the opportunity to play an international tournament outside Sweden. The choice was an easy one, given all the positive stories and experiences we have heard about the tournament.

Our expectations are to challenge ourselves, grow as a team and create lasting memories together.

Dana Cup supports Football for the Goals - it is a United Nations initiative that provides a platform for the global football community to engage with and advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We ask all teams to pick at least 1 Global Goals that they support and will play for at the Dana Cup, which goal does your team support and would like to play for? More information: Football for the Goals and The Global Goals

We support Goal 10 – Reduced Inequalities. Equality is a cornerstone of our value foundation. We strongly believe that everyone should have the same opportunities, regardless of background or circumstances – whether it is within our football team, in school, or in the workplace. This goal reflects who we are as a team and what we stand for.
