Honours on the Menu
Tuesday evening is traditionally a social event for managers and invited guests. On the menu was delicious food from Bone's in Hjørring, and as an extra spice, honorary awards were presented on the stage.
FK Vidar, via Gaute Meling, was presented with a very special prize for being the only club to have participated in all 40 editions of the Dana Cup.
On behalf of Volda IT, Hæge-Lill Humargset received an award for joining Club 100, i.e. the clubs that have sent 100 teams to the Dana Cup over the years.
For Hinna Fotball, Mikael Løning received an award for joining Club 300.
Honour Awards was awarded to Thorsten Vekens, who first participated in the Dana Cup in 1997 as a referee. Since then, he has brought an increasing number of German referees to Hjørring and has now taken over responsibility for the referees during the tournament.
One of the many faithful ambassadors for Norwegian clubs is Ola Hjertland from Nymark IL from Bergen. He received an Honour Award for his great loyalty.
Also on the menu was a welcome by Dana Cup's CEO Jette Andersen and Hjørring municipality's mayor, Søren Smalbro. Singer and guitarist Jens Warmløse provided the musical entertainment.
