Strong Focus on Sustainability

With around 20,000 players, managers and family members at the Dana Cup, huge amounts of waste are produced every day. Therefore, it makes perfect sense to focus on sustainable waste management.

‘As a responsible company, we naturally want to take responsibility, both in the daily handling of waste and of course not least during the Dana Cup. That's why we have set up containers where we have made it clear which fragments go in which containers,’ Sustainability Manager Torben Falberg explains.

Already in 2024, the Dana Cup focused on food waste, and now the natural next step is to focus on waste sorting.

‘But our focus on sustainability does not end here. After this year's Dana Cup, we'll evaluate how the waste sorting has gone and then we'll expand with even more initiatives. Focusing on energy will be a natural next step. Maybe we should consider replacing our own cars with electric cars. Maybe we should set up special bicycles that can be used to charge cell phones,’ Torben Falberg speculates.

‘But sustainability is about much more than just sorting and recycling waste correctly and focusing on energy. For us, sustainability is also about creating as much gender balance as possible, so that we see even more girls at the Dana Cup,’ he adds.
