Thanks to Hjørring Municipality
For many years, it has been a cherished tradition for two of the participating teams in the Dana Cup to be officially welcomed by the mayor of Hjørring municipality, marking the official start of the tournament. Our thanks go to mayor Søren Smalbro for continuing this tradition.
Dana Cup Director Jette Andersen expressed her delight that, after many months of intensive preparations, the tournament can finally get under way, with around 300 referees ready to take charge of the matches.
"Over the years, we have welcomed a great many South American teams, particularly from Brazil. Unfortunately, we have not had the opportunity to welcome many teams from Argentina, so we are especially pleased to have Tucumán from Argentina with us this year, along with Colegio Arbos from Brazil. Both teams have also been chosen to take part in lighting the ceremonial flame in Hjørring town centre, officially declaring the Dana Cup open," said Jette Andersen.
