B-67 – B11 – Greenland
1. Tell us briefly the name of your club and where you come from, your history?
B-67 stands for Boldklubben anno 1967 and was established in 1967 in Nuuk, Greenland, mainly to challenge the existing clubs at the time and to participate in the Greenland Championships. The club has a long history of talented and skilled players and continues to have a strong focus on talent development, collaborating with both Danish and international clubs, such as development work with FC Copenhagen. B-67 is also the club in Greenland with the most Greenland Championships and has a long tradition of sending young players to international tournaments like the Dana Cup.
2. Tell us what participating in the Dana Cup means for you and your team/s?
First and foremost, we are extremely excited to experience the Dana Cup, as well as the opportunity to play against other talented players from Denmark and abroad. Our main focus as coaches is for our players to have a great experience on the trip and hopefully return home with more match experience for our own tournaments back in Greenland. We generally aim to have a great experience and gain more match experience, as we don't have weekly games here at home, so our goal is clearly to take one game at a time and hope for good results.
3. What are your goals and expectations at the Dana Cup 2025?
Since this is the first time our U11 team is participating, we are of course excited about the results themselves but are definitely prepared for any challenges that may arise. Two years ago, we won the A-final at the another tournament and last year we reached the B-final in the same tournament, so we will definitely challenge the opponents we will face, but with a certain humility, as we don't play matches as often, and our outdoor season only lasts for about 3 months.
4. Dana Cup supports Football for the Goals - it is a United Nations initiative that provides a platform for the global football community to engage with and advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We ask all teams to pick at least 1 of the Global Goals that they support and will play the Dana Cup, which goal does your team support and would like to play for? We haven't specifically discussed the topic, but we support the goal in general. If we were to choose one single global goal, it would be goal number 16: peace, justice, and strong institutions. Here, we think about the upbringing and future of our children.
