Fortuna Hjørring quickly made it clear to Tiller IL that the Nord Energi Arena was their home turf. The Norwegian side rarely ventured into Fortuna's half, and whenever they did, the Danish team swiftly regained possession.
The girls in green controlled the game with confident, flowing passing football, but Tiller's well-organised defence consistently broke up Fortuna's attacks before they could create any clear-cut chances.
Given Fortuna's dominance, it came as a real surprise when Tiller scored what proved to be the decisive goal with just under ten minutes remaining. Having defended resolutely throughout, the Norwegian side made their game plan work to perfection. Tiller deserve great credit for sticking to their tactics, even if their defence-first approach was not the most entertaining style of football for the spectators.
