Bjarg IL (NOR) – Hertfordshire County Schools (ENG) 6-5 after extra time and penalties (1-1)
The girls from Norway's Bjarg and England's Hertfordshire County Schools treated the crowd to a closely contested final, with momentum swinging from one side to the other throughout the match.
The English side made the brighter start and took the lead after just seven minutes. A well-delivered corner found its target, and a powerful header gave Hertfordshire County Schools a deserved advantage.
They looked set to carry that lead into the break, but Bjarg had other ideas. Deep into first-half stoppage time, the Norwegian side found an equaliser in spectacular fashion, as a long-range strike flew into the corner of the net to make it 1–1.
Bjarg controlled much of the second half, enjoying the majority of possession and territory. However, despite their dominance, neither side was able to create many clear-cut scoring opportunities.
With the score still level after regulation time, the final went into extra time. Neither side could break the deadlock in extra time, sending the final to a penalty shootout. Here Bjarg was most effective.
