‘We Want to Bring Home the Dana Cup Trophy ‘

Søgne FK's U18-19 are in the B-playoff semi-final

When we get to the final, we destroy our opponent. We want to take the trophy home.’

That is what Hakon Wiigfjeld, who plays for Norwegian Søgne FK, says immediately after the team's quarterfinal against Swedish Dalen-Kroklätts FF.

The Swedish team controlled the game in the 1st half, but after the halftime break the Swedes' strength seemed to be exhausted. The Norwegians began to gain the upper hand. With two minutes left in the game, Hakon Wiigfjeld made an assist when they scored the decisive goal.

‘It feels fantastic, and it makes me really happy that I made an assist,’ Hakon Wiigfjeld says.

The team will play Thursday's third game tonight, but this is not something that scares the Norwegian.

‘The legs are getting tired, but we have been training all year for this tournament, so it should be ok,’ Wiigfjeld adds.

B18-19 from Søgne FK finished last in a very tight group with only two points between top and bottom. That is why Hakon Wiigfjeld also uses disappointment as motivation.

‘It is a coincidence that we are not in the A play-off. Therefore, we must win the B play-off to show that we deserved to be in the A play-off," he explains.

Søgne FK will face Interclubes from Mexico in the semi-final. The match will be played at 18:45 on pitch 18 in the centre area.
