Commitment Extends Beyond the Pitch
The commitment is just as strong away from the football pitches. Every year, many parents choose to spend week 30 in Hjørring, supporting their teams and playing an active part in the unique Dana Cup experience.
One of the many travelling parents is Norwegian Anders Henriksen, who has come to Hjørring to support Herkules during the Dana Cup. This year marks his third visit, and he enjoys spending week 30 in Hjørring, where he can follow the team closely and be part of the community and atmosphere surrounding the tournament.
"It is an incredible experience to be here and watch the children play football in this tournament. The weather in Denmark is fantastic, and the surroundings are beautiful," Anders Henriksen says.
When the football takes a break, the time is also spent enjoying the good weather and experiences away from the pitch.
"We go to the beach for a swim, for example, and we also enjoy some good Danish food," Anders Henriksen says. He adds that they have rented a holiday cottage during the tournament, where they can spend time together and relax between matches.
